About the client
XTBA is a manufacturer of specialist lighting control products, but these products are not sexy or exciting mostly being grey or black boxes! Their website is designed to make it easy to find the product that the customer is looking for out of a wide range based on what the products work with. Whilst the web site may look fairly bland there is a lot of information that can be found on each product several ways, via the product pages or via documentation for instance, or by searching.
The challenge we faced

Our thoughts
The previous websites had progressed from static pages to using a database driven CMS (Content Management System) but over time this CMS had become insecure and end of life. We redesigned the website to reflect a more modern look and feel as well as migrating the site to a non database driven CMS which adds great security to which we were able to incorporate all the features of a database - it is clever stuff.
This resulted in the following action plan:
- Redesign the site with a modern aesthetic
- Migrate the content and data to a new and secure CMS
Our proposition
While we had to upgrade the site to the latest security requirements, we also had to satisfy the browsing customers increased tendency to use a mobile device to view the website - the site is now fully responsive and mobile friendly.XTBA - The results speak for themselves:
